The volume begins with mechanical, thermal and hydraulic aspects of machine design, including cooling systems, dimensions, electromagnetic loading, mechanical stresses and heat transfer. The largest section is devoted to induction machines, covering their construction, electromagnetic processes, equivalent circuits, torque, starting, speed control, unbalanced operation, single-phase motors and special-purpose machines.
