The book begins with mathematical and network representations used for power-system analysis, including graph theory, network matrices, Y-bus and Z-bus formulations. It then examines the mathematical modeling of major power-system components such as generators, transformers, transmission lines, motors, and loads. A major section is devoted to load-flow analysis, covering classical numerical techniques such as the Gauss-Seidel and Newton-Raphson methods, as well as economic dispatch and economic scheduling.
