Afficher le Résumé

The book combines power-system operation, mathematical modeling, automatic control and optimization techniques. A major emphasis is placed on the optimal allocation of electrical load among generating units and power plants, including thermal, hydroelectric and interconnected systems. It also addresses long-term and short-term operational planning, unit commitment, frequency regulation, power reserves, hydrothermal coordination, fuel management and maintenance scheduling. Mathematical optimization methods, including dynamic programming and hierarchical control, are used to solve operational problems. The final part considers the technical, economic and environmental aspects of power-system operation, making the book particularly relevant to power-system engineers, operators, planners and researchers.
