The purpose of this thesis is to analyse two import-nt performances of AC/DC systems: the load flow and the transient t-bility. The seqLlentiel approach is ret-ined for the analysis of the static interactions between AC and DC systems. The method for representing a parallel mLil t i termi nal HVDC system i n a transi ent stability program is described in detail. Converters, transmission lines and the control system are modeled for system planning StLldi es. In addition, a mathematical representation of generators with their control system is described for dynamic stLldi es.The capability of the digital program is verified on an interconnected AC/DC system composed of three DC terminals The capability of the digital program is verified on an interconnected AC/DC system composed of three DC terminals and the WSCC9 alternative system. The resLIl ts are compared wi th some reported.
