Expert systems can be very useful to simulationists. Such features as explanation capabilities and a very friendly user interface make them more acceptable and even attractive. The goal of this project is to design and implement an expert system which will assist simulationists in selecting a simulation language matched to their applica- tion and their hardware resources. The system is based on both a rule based knowledge representation and a relational database.
