Control systems engineering is an engineering textbook devoted to the analysis, modeling, and design of automatic control systems. it presents the fundamental methods used to model physical systems and determine their dynamic behavior, followed by classical feedback-control techniques. the book deals with mathematical models of mechanical, electrical and other dynamic systems, transfer functions, feedback structures, transient and frequency responses, stability, and controller design. it also connects theoretical control concepts with practical engineering applications. the approach is characteristic of control engineering textbooks of the 1980s: beginning with physical-system modeling and classical control, then progressing toward system analysis and control-system design. palm subsequently developed these subjects further in modeling, analysis, and control of dynamic systems (1983), which is also cited in engineering literature.
