The second part of the thesis deals with the seismic design criteria for steel structures contained in the latter two of the above documents and in a seismic design proposal for can3-s16.1. the experimental and philosophical bases for the different criteria are briefly presented in this part. the design criteria are finally applied to the three buildings, selected for the code loadings only, in order to measure their influence on member and connection selection.
